The company was founded in 1948 as Kamenni Karieri (Rock Quarries) Enterprise, Ruse. It developed small limestone quarries in the regions of Rousse, Razgrad, Lovech and Targovishte, where rough large-size stone blocks were extracted, mostly through manual method. Initially, the company functioned under the administration of the Ministry of Construction. Lime production was developed subsequently, however it was later discontinued and closed down as the lime furnace became worn out. Later on, underground mining of blocks of Rousse limestone was organized and carried out manually, supplying raw material for varied stone products and facing slabs. At Krassen and Bassarbovo deposits. In 1977 the Krassen deposit became exhausted and the mining was confined to the Bassarbovo deposit.
