Ivo Papazov, Ibryama, is a famous Bulgarian clarinetist virtuoso. He was born on February 16, 1952 in Kardjali, in a musical family. Ivo Papazov starts playing clarinet from early age and knows that he was going to do that for the rest of his life. The gifted kid soon leaves school in order to be able to concentrate on playing and making a living out of music. He started his first band (a wedding band) in 1974 and soon became the wedding king in Bulgaria. His distinctive characteristic is that Ivo Papazov turns the traditional wedding music into a jazz phenomenon. He becomes internationally famous after he signs a contract with Hannibal Records in 1989, not without the help of Milcho Leviev, one of Bulgaria's gretest jazz men of all time. Ivo Papasov's first two albums, "Orpheus Ascending" 1989 and "Balkanology" 1991were produced by John Boyd. For the next ten years, he is traveling across the world working with many famous musicians like Hector Zazou, Okay Temiz, Glen Velez, Kepa Junker, etc. Everywhere he played, the audience loved him for his masterly performances and appreciated his talents. One of the best moments in his career is the honorable BBC Radio 3 World Music Audience Award in 2005, one of the most prestigious awards a musician can get. The way Ivo Papazov plays hi music is hard to describe, it is just genius and this is why many people across the world love him. In one of his concerts in New York he was welcomed by the audience with a huge poster saying: "Ivo, New York loves you!". World's press has praised his gifts as well. The Guardian, the Washington Post and the New York Times have paid special tributes to the Bulgarian musician. After winning this globally voted award, Ivo Papazov became the face of Bulgaria in an advertisement about the country broadcasted across Europe.
