Taiwanese hardware maker D-Link announced it has decided to go for an international launch of its Internet TV box in a number of countries, including Bulgaria.
Boxee Box allows customers to play what they normally watch on the computer on their TV, tailor the Internet experience to a huge flat screen, do it in full HD, 1080p with 5.1 surround whenever possible, share the stuff with friends and use a simple remote rather than a keyboard and mouse.
D-Link said that the Intel based hardware allows Boxee's open software framework to deliver up to full 1080p HD over a wired or wireless 802.11n network. It claims that Boxee ships with hundreds of apps already available and an intuitive interface.
Boxee allows access to a library of free and paid content available on the Internet, as well as access to your own digital content and social media networks.
It has content from the BBC, Last.fm, CNET, CNN, Channel 4, Comedy Central, Facebook, ITV, MTV Music, MyspaceTV, Youtube, Flickr, and Picasa.
The Boxee Box by D-Link will be available soon to pre-order from Amazon. It will ship from mid-November with an expected retail price of £199.
