Helios-Metalurg Ltd. is the first rolling mill thoroughly built with private capital. It is the fourth biggest metallurgical plant in Bulgaria. The plant has been build for 2 years with the kindest cooperation of Bulgarian and foreign companies. The whole process from drawings through mounting until the finish was under the professional guidance of leading specialists in metallurgy.
The plant is situated in the East industrial area of city of Plovdiv and starts operating in August 2006. The production range comprises of reinforcing steel – rebars, diameters from 10 to 28 mm, it has been approved by Bulgarkontrola according to actual regulations, such as NSIOOSP And BG standards: BDS EN 10080; BDS 4758:84. The company is in a procedure of implementing ISO 9001 – 2000. Flexibility of production allows changing from one diameter into another in max. two hours. The mill is equipped with a modern technology which guarantees the production process ecological safety. Over 160 people are working in the plant. Its production is orientated both for local market and export.
Helios-Metalurg activities comprises also of production of cut and bend of reinforcing steel. Plovdiv workshop capacity is 2000 tons monthly (opening in March 2007), Sofia workshop – 1500 tons monthly, Burgas workshop – 600 tons monthly.
Helios Metalurg efforts for producing high quality products is confirmed by its proposal for certifying the manufacturers of cut and bend of rebars with the only objective to guarantee a high quality final product according to European and international standards of construction and live.
Along with its manufacturing activity the company developes a very active trade of a huge range of steel products in its distribution unit in Bulgaria, in the cities of Plovdiv, Sofia, Bourgas, Gotze Delchev,
Pleven and Svishtov.
