Israeli holding, named Bulgarian Agriculture Properties, is planning to invest in the vegetables production and processing sector in the Bulgarian city of Yambol.
As a result, about 2500 new job positions are expected to be revealed in the city.
Last week representatives of the company visited Yambol following the invitation of the Chair of the Municipal Council, Nasko Stefanov, who had asked the Yambol mayor, Georgi Slavov, to point out suitable sites for greenhouse and summer production of vegetables.
Bulgarian Agriculture Properties was recently registered in Bulgaria. Its founders have been the leading producers of vegetables in the Arabah Valley for many years.
Even though the valley is mostly desert, the investors have managed to develop modern vegetables production through new technologies. They have also gained good positions on the international market.
The new technology will also be implemented in Yambol. A special center for training agronomic engineers will expected to be built in the city.
The project also envisions the creation of a research center for testing different sorts of vegetables. It will include fruit storage, fridges, packing production lines and other equipment required for the entire production cycle, which will be in compliance with the European requirements for production processing.
