"Information we discussed will be gathered and used entirely in formal matters. What is important is that we today formulated some questions to the State Agency for National Security (SANS)," said MP Desislava Atanasova, Chairperson of the parliamentary ad-hoc committee in charge of investigating the case of Corporate Commercial Bank (CorpBank), speaking after a sitting of the committee, which lasted for some 3 and a half hours, FOCUS News Agency reported.
"The SANS Chairperson was here, as well as the head of the Financial Intelligence Directorate. We have invited them to come next time with the information we requested today. The managing director of the Counteracting Frauds in the Financial Sector directorate will be again invited to the SANS," Ms Atanasova stated.
In her words, questions were raised and the manner in which information was collected and summarised on the case at the SANS will be clarified.
"We have asked for an analysis of legislation, so that our proposals to the National Assembly, when work is over, are formulated with a view to expanding the scope of institutions which will monitor financial and economic stability in the country," the lawmaker remarked.
