The joint stock company DJIEV is owner of the Poultry Complex in town of Kostinbrod, located 15 km west of Sofia, on an area of 650 000 sq. m., and disposes of 130 000 sq. m. of industrial space.
The completely closed production cycle cycle of the operation involves: rearing of growing broiler breeders, broiler parent stock, a hatchery, centers for rearing of commercial layers for table egg production, a feed manufacturing plant, a poultry slaughterhouse (with a capacity of 8000 chicken/hr), sausage production department, pig- farm and proprietary retail network. The plant operates with 100% own raw materials that necessitated a pig farm to be set up to meet the needs of pork for the production of sausages and delicatessen.
In poultry meat processing and sausage production the company does not use colorants, filling and watering agents, and meat substitutes, unlike the general practice in Bulgaria and abroad.
The broilers are fed standard diets containing no additives, growth promoters, antibiotics and medications. The average feed consumption is 2,2 kg per 1 kg of live body weight according to the duration of the fattening period, ranging between 45 and 55 days. Our motto is: feeding diets of natural feed ingredients for a longer fattening period is a guarantee for a higher quality.
A guarantee for our products quality are the 8 international prizes for quality, 4 for 2005 and 4 for 2006, conferred to the company by the world leaders – EDITORIAL OFFICE and the CLUB OF TRADE LEADERS, and by OTHERWAYS MANAGEMENT & CONSULTING. The manager of the company is a member of the Club of Trade Leaders in Madrid.
The high estimation of our clients, despite the lower profitability, has encouraged us to continue the production of natural and quality products.
