Aviation Training Center at Air Scorpio Ltd. (AOC No BG 35) was established in 1999 and the same year was approved for training of professional pilots for the Civil Aviation, with Certificate No TC 003, by Directorate General – Civil Aviation Administration (DG CAA) of Ministry of Transportation.

• Approved EASA Part M, Subpart G Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization with Certificate No BG.MG.0035;

Aircraft Ind. and Thielert Aircraft Engines.
In March 1999 the Aviation Training Center (ATC) Air Scorpio began the first professional pilots training flights. The students were two company employees.
Two months later – in July 1999, the first contract was signed with DG CAA for the training of the first and second year graduates from Aviation Transport Department of Technical University – Sofia. This contract was renewed every year and now, nine years later, we have completed successfully the training of 11 consecutive years graduates.
ATC Air Scorpio grandfathered the tradition and system of theoretical study at university and practical training in an aviation training center, which were previously performed in the Airforce University “G. Benkovski” and the Training Center of BGA “Balkan”. This tradition ensured the training of the best professional pilots in the history of Bulgarian Civil Aviation.
The first flight training programs were developed by Air Scoprio in accordance with the requirements of ICAO Course 236 and approved by DG CAA.
After national Regulation No 1, for the Aviation personnel licensing, was issued in 2003 the flight training programs were amended in accordance with the requirements of the Regulation and JAR-FCL 1/2. The new program was called “Unified training program for civil aviation pilots” and included all integrated and modular courses (ATPL, CPL/IR, CPL, IR, etc.). With some later corrections the “Unified training program for civil aviation pilots” was approved by DG CAA as base program for all aviation training centers in Bulgaria. |
